Why firm support beats soft cushioning

Comfort and support are not the same thing. A firm structure carries your body weight and keeps the foot in its natural position, so the arch and the tendons stop overworking to hold you up. That is what takes the strain off tired, aching heels, and it is exactly what a soft gel pad cannot do once it has flattened.

    Will these fit my shoes and my size?

    Two size bands cover the whole range: UK 2.5 to 6.5 (EU 35 to 40) and UK 7 to 11 (EU 41 to 46). The top sheet is printed with cutting guides, so you trim along the line for your size for an exact fit.

    They are about 4 mm thick at the arch, so they work in trainers, work shoes, boots and most everyday flats. In very tight shoes, take the original insole out first.

    Comfort and support are not the same thing. Soft gel compresses under your body weight, so after a few minutes the arch drops again and the load carries on.

    Lysby Insoles are built around a firm stabilising shell that holds its shape, with EVA cushioning on top and a heel pad underneath. You get support that stays put, plus cushioning, rather than cushioning on its own.

    Most people notice the arch being held up straight away. Your feet do need a few days to settle into the new position, and a little tightness in the arch during that time is normal.

    We suggest wearing them for two to three hours on the first day and building up from there. How quickly things improve varies from person to person.
