How it works
Weave in 4 easy steps

Attach it over the hole
Place the wooden disc behind the garment and attach the Weave & Mend Kit over the spot you want to mend.

Set up the threads
Turn the hooks towards you. Attach the yarn to the garment and guide the threads up around the hooks.
3
Weave back and forth
Turn the hooks to the side and weave through the threads. Switch the direction of the hooks with every row.
4
Done!
Remove the tool and secure the loops along the top edge to the garment. Then pull the loose ends through to the back and sew them in.

Honestly, so much better than I expected

I ordered it on a bit of a whim because I've always loved crafts, but I'm really no expert at sewing or knitting. It was honestly so much easier than I thought! My first go maybe wasn't the prettiest in the world 😂 but by the second one it was working really well. I've since mended a hole in my favourite cardigan that had been sitting in the wardrobe for ages. It feels so pointless throwing clothes away when you can turn them into something lovely instead. My sister saw what I'd done and now wants to try it too 👍

I have to say, I was really pleasantly surprised. I've got several old cardigans and jumpers at home that I didn't want to throw away, but I never really knew what to do with them either. I tried it on an old knitted jumper first and it took a little while to get the hang of the technique, but then it went really well 😊 The best bit, almost, is that you can make the repair look nice instead of having to hide it.

I'm 71 and I remember the days when you repaired things instead of just throwing them away and buying new. That's why I found this really interesting. I needed a bit of time to work out how to start and had to redo my first attempt, so I'm giving it 4 stars. But once you get the hang of it, it's easy and really good fun.
